John Ashcroft approves seeking death penalty against 72 year-old man in W.D. Va.
In the Charles Gilmore murder case, now pending in the U.S. District Court for the W.D. Va., the Attorney General of the United States has approved the prosecutors request to seek the death penalty against Gilmore, who is now age 72, for his role in the multiple killings that occurred 14 years ago in Tazewell County, Virginia.
