Inter Alia,
this report describes survey results measuring public attitudes about questions related to the First Amendment. For example, 46% thought the press has too much freedom, almost 70% thought "nation under God" does not violate the "separation of church and state" (and if the question was asked in the actual language of the establishment clause, I suspect the response would be more like 90%), and 44% said the media conglomerates influence the content of news reporting "a great deal."
