I enjoyed greatly the David Brooks book,
Bobos in Paradise, and
this article spotted by
Instapundit. The concept is a dead-on characterization of many people I know, lawyers in particular - but not those from right around here. There are no Bobos in far Southwest Virginia, just a few wannabes. We have no Pottery Barn and the nearest Barnes & Noble with a Starbucks is in Johnson City. Everyone gets their appliances at Sears. Sure, we get a few L.L. Bean catalogs, but it's hard to be a Bobo via mail order.
